Welcome to Coco! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Coco mobile application ("App") operated by Coco ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using our App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Important: Please read these Terms carefully before using Coco. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Coco, you confirm that:

You are at least 13 years of age
You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
You have read and understood our Privacy Policy

2. Description of Service

Coco is an AI-powered communication practice app designed to help you improve your speaking skills through:

Real-time voice-based practice sessions with an AI coach
Personalized feedback on clarity, confidence, and engagement
Progress tracking and session history
Goal-oriented practice scenarios

Coco is intended for educational and personal development purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional speech therapy, mental health treatment, or medical advice.

3. Account Registration

To use Coco, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete registration information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account use
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Coco offers premium features through subscription plans:

Free Tier: Limited access to basic features
Premium Subscription: Full access to all features, unlimited practice sessions, and advanced analytics

Subscription terms:

Payments are processed through Apple's App Store
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings
No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods
Prices may change with reasonable notice

5. User Conduct

When using Coco, you agree NOT to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the App
Use automated systems or bots to access the service
Upload harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
Share your account with others or resell access

6. Voice and Content

Regarding your voice recordings and content:

You retain ownership of the words and ideas you express
You grant us a limited license to process your voice for the purpose of providing feedback
Raw audio is processed in real-time and not stored on our servers
Session transcripts are stored to provide you with history and progress tracking
We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models

7. Intellectual Property

All rights in the App, including but not limited to:

The Coco name, logo, and branding
The AI coaching technology and algorithms
User interface design and graphics
All software code and documentation

are owned by Coco or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

COCO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that:

The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
The AI feedback will be perfectly accurate
You will achieve specific results from using the App
The App will meet all your requirements

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COCO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
Damages arising from your use or inability to use the App
Any amount exceeding what you paid us in the past 12 months

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Coco harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your violation of these Terms
Your use of the App
Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Coco:

If you violate these Terms
If required by law
If we discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

We will update the "Last updated" date
We will notify you of material changes through the App or email
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
